HP Pavilion Dv7 Notebook Review

This HP laptop has a large 17.3-inch diagonal high-definition LED display that’s great for watching DVDs. It also has an integrated fingerprint reader so you can access your online accounts securely with the swipe of a finger.

The HP Pavilion dv7 notebook is a powerful laptop computer designed to do anything and everything that you want it to do. The LED screen is quite large, measuring at 17.3 inches and with a native resolution of 1600X900, it is quite convenient for watching movies or playing computer games on. What makes this laptop even more ideal for gaming is the fact that it comes with 6 GB of RAM, which allows the computer to run most newly released computer games. The processor is an AMD Quad-Core A8-3500M accelerated processor, which is very fast and can be compared to an Intel i5 or i7 processor. The battery can last up to ten and a half hours, which is more than enough to finish watching a movie or to have a dedicated gaming session. The graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6750M card, with 1 GB of dedicated video memory.

The notebook itself is fairly hefty, weighing at 6.6 pounds, which makes it a little heavy for travelling with, but is still light enough to travel with. The hard drive is a little small for such a powerful computer, with only 640 GB of storage space. This means that you can’t have a huge amount of data and files stored on your laptop, but it is sizeable enough to be acceptable for school or for work use. The dv7 also comes with some added features that are pretty convenient and interesting. First of all, a fingerprint reader allows you to access your data by swiping your finger instead of typing a password (though you can set a typed password for your computer as well), which protects your computer from anyone else accessing it besides you. A built in webcam allows you to video chat with your friends through applications like Skype, and a digital media reader allows you to transfer photos from digital cameras without using any cords, a really unique and innovative feature. Finally, the dv7 notebook has Beats audio built in that provides crisp quality audio and a deep bass sound.

Overall, I would highly recommend the HP dv7 notebook for its large LED screen, 1 GB of dedicated video memory, and 6 GB of RAM. The long battery life is a great feature that makes it ideal for travelling, as it won’t require constant charging. However, the hard drive is relatively small, so if you have a large amount of files or data, installing a new hard drive would be a good idea. Otherwise, there is nothing more that you could add to the notebook to make it perform any better.
